** A LIFE UPDATE: It's been eight months since my last video in Nov 2023, reason being we've been travelling much since December 2023 into Q1 of this year, and at the end of all that my husband decided to retire and now wants to slow travel the world - go figure! Hence, I've been busy getting a lot of stuff done these last few months: Downsizing our belongings from a 3200 sqft home to a 97 sqft storage unit (!), scheduling our health check-ups, and of course, building and making the travel bookings for our BAI (or our "big-ass itinerary"), which I decided afterwards should be more-appropriately called our GWP (or our "God-willing plan"). I've had a lull in the busy-ness, and since it'll be awhile before I get my hands on a piano again, I decided I should do one more song before we rode off into the sunset (joking, joking)... **

This song "Alone", sung by K-pop artist Rothy, was something I wanted to cover since watching the Kdrama "Doctor Cha". I felt the show was a solid one considering how they've managed to explore serious themes through the 16 episodes and yet balance them with humour and, more importantly, hope. The song usually features Cha Jung Sook (wonderfully represented by the Uhm-aizing Uhm Jung Hwa!) in her loneliness, when she ponders the life she has given up on in order to be a wife and mom, and now 20 years down the road, she wonders whether that dream is still out there waiting for her.

In the show, an unfinished kitchen cabinet door is a repeated trope through the show, to represent the unfinished business we typically put aside, simply because we naturally assume that we will have time to return to it... until something happens in life and you realize you can't put it off anymore. I symphatize with that, because similarly in our case, I had several tasks related to our 5-year home that I left mid-way thinking that I will get to it at some point... well, those tasks suddenly and mysteriously get done within a short space of time LOL.

This piano arrangement was relatively straightforward, so it didn't take me long to get my practicing done and then the video (I still had to unbox my equipment to use them and then repack them again =.=). Hope you enjoy!

P.S. Small disclaimer: The translation in my video for the Korean lyrics came from Google. I didn't particularly like how some of the sentences came out but I couldn't find anything else better either. But I refrained from altering anything and left them as they are because I didn't want to assume that those sentences meant what I thought it did or should.
