Arrangement for clarinet quartet of Suite No. 1, Op. 46, by Edvard Grieg. The suite begins with the “Morning Mood” movement, evoking the dawn. It is followed by “The Death Of Ase”, which describes Peer’s regret at the death of his mother. The third movement is “Anitra’s Dance”, where Peer is taken as a prophet and the beautiful Anitra performs a dance to seduce him. The last movement “In the Hall of the Mountain King”, which describes the descent of Peer to the mysterious grotto, wet and dark, where the king of the mountain is located.
