Cavatina is a musical term, originally meaning a short song of simple character, without a second strain or any repetition of the air. This specific "Cavatina" piece is a classical guitar work written by British composer Stanley Myers for the movie "The Walking Stick" in 1970, and it was used as the theme song of a movie "Deer Hunter" eight years later, when it became popular. In 1973, this piece was also written lyrics by Cleo Laine as "He Was Beautiful" and played by classical guitarist John Williams. This piano version is adapted from the guitar performance version of "World Famous Songs: Romantic Guitar Classics" (CD) published by the China Audio-Video Publishing House in 1994.
